Decent hosting, slow support

I bought a shared hosting plan and transferred a domain to Bit Domain. The setup was fairly straightforward, and the anonymous billing was exactly what I needed. The hosting performance has been stable enough for my small site. However, I had a question about DNS settings, and it took a full day to get a response from support. Not terrible, but could be quicker.

Smooth anonymous VPS setup

I ordered an anonymous VPS hosting plan from Bit Domain last month, paying with Bitcoin. The ordering process was quite simple on their site. After payment, the VPS was provisioned within a few hours, which was quicker than I expected. I received the login details for the control panel and SSH access via email. The offshore hosting location was a key factor for me, and it seems to be working as advertised. I also appreciate that WHOIS privacy protection was included for my domain transfer. The connection speed to the server is decent, and I haven't experienced any downtime so far. It's good to have a service that really focuses on privacy from start to finish.

Consistent privacy services

I've used Bit Domain several times now for various domain registrations and shared hosting. This last order for a domain renewal and private email hosting was just as reliable as my previous experiences. They consistently deliver on the anonymous aspects, and I haven't had any issues with my sites or email. It's why I keep coming back, knowing what to expect.

Good value for domain registration

I was looking for anonymous domain registration and Bit Domain popped up. The prices for their crypto domain registration seemed reasonable, and they had a free privacy protection bundled in. That saved me a bit compared to other places. The overall process was smooth, and I felt like I got good value for what I paid. Happy with the savings.

how long does it typically take for a domain to become active after you register it on BitDomain? trying to launch something soon and need it live fast.

R Ryan 1 month ago
Mine was pretty quick, I think it was up and running within a few hours. Usually, it's not instant but not a crazy wait either.

Depends on DNS propagation, but once they process the crypto payment, the domain registration itself is usually instant. Then it's just waiting for the internet to catch up.

hey, anyone used BitDomain for web hosting? thinking of switching but wondering if their 'anonymous' claim is for real, or just marketing fluff.

L Lisa A. 1 month ago
From my experience, it's pretty solid. They only take crypto and don't ask for much personal info. Plus, they're offshore which helps.

Yeah, I've had a domain with them for a year now. The WHOIS info is totally private, and I've never gotten any weird emails. They don't log stuff either, afaik.

Do they accept other crypto besides Bitcoin? I mostly use Monero for privacy stuff and wondering if I can pay with that.

C Colin 1 month ago
Pretty sure they accept a few different ones, not just BTC. I've paid with ETH before. Check their payment options, they list them out.

Yeah, I remember seeing Litecoin and some others when I checked out. They're pretty good with crypto choices for anonymity.

Just curious, does BitDomain offer any kind of discount for new customers or if you pay with bitcoin? Planning to grab a bunch of stuff.

D Derek T. 3 weeks ago
Yep, they usually have deals for new hosting plans. And I think there's often a bonus for paying with crypto, like 10-20% off for the first year.

When I signed up, I got free privacy protection bundled with my domain. And def look out for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, those are usually good times for deals.

Thinking of moving my domain from Namecheap over to BitDomain. Anyone done this? Is the transfer process a pain, and do they keep the anonymity when you transfer?

D Derek Q. 1 month ago
Yeah, I transferred a domain from Porkbun. It was pretty straightforward, just needed the EPP code. And they do offer privacy protection for transfers too, usually free for the first year.

The transfer itself wasn't bad, just follow their steps. The big thing is making sure your current registrar isn't holding things up. BitDomain totally keeps it anonymous.

Anyone know if BitDomain offers refunds for their hosting plans? Just in case things don't work out.

D David Walsh 1 month ago
I don't think they do refunds on hosting, or at least it's super limited. I'd definitely double-check their terms on that before you commit. It's a crypto-based service, so refunds are usually tricky everywhere.

D Daisy Z. 4 weeks ago
Nah, pretty sure it's a no-refund policy for most of their services given the nature of crypto payments and their privacy focus. So choose carefully.
